The FAD Dual-Country Fashion Styling & Image Creation Diploma is an intensive and exciting course that is designed if you are looking for a comprehensive professional training in styling, with access into the fashion industry beyond study. The course equips you with the essential skills required to start your styling career at industry level.

 

Students experience industry tutored - industry integrated learning throughout the course with unparalleled global exposure through a semester in Dubai, the luxury & retail capital of the world. Student pursue the first 6 months at the India campuses & continue the next 3 months at the FAD Dubai Campus.

 

The combination of professional training taught by some of the finest tutors in the fashion industry, with exposure to professional industry-based styling work experience during study, is a powerful training formula for anyone who is serious about starting and developing a successful career in the fashion industry. Tutored by industry stylists, students receive hands on practical learning experience with ongoing industry internships and placements.

 

The course content is suitable for complete beginners or those with previous experience, as we fine tune training to the individual student aspirations through ongoing support and mentoring.. Students receive plenty of one- on-one time with tutors, along with group projects and industry engagement. This in-depth course addresses all aspects of the styling industry, enabling you to develop professional understanding and the skills required to pursue an exciting, glamorous & rewarding career as a professional fashion stylist.

 

The course requires a minimum of 3 days of study per week, with students attending a variety of campus based lectures, class drop ins, one- on-one tuition, industry-based trips and other assigned projects and internships. This also allows students to continue on their current academic and part time work commitments. The course provides consistent opportunity for professional industry-based work experience during training to propel individual development, resulting in an impressive resume/CV of works on completion of training.

During the first semester (6 Months), the course divides time between modules of learning focused on personal styling and fashion styling, fashion and lifestyle blogging, social media, commercial styling, historical fashion referencing, trend prediction, show, TV and celebrity styling. A core component of the course is to learn how to style for industry level editorial shoots styling models from key agencies to a professional brief, producing imagery for some published works on-line and in print .

 

Students learn industry protocol from a highly established art team including fashion photographers, make-up artists & hair stylists. This forms a carefully chosen photographic portfolio of fashion styling images to present to clients in industry as a professional stylist. Similarly, FAD students work alongside established Personal stylists to develop skill running Wardrobe Edit and Personal Shopping experiences with live clients. The 3 Month Semester in Dubai focuses on combining development of editorial ability to an impressive industry standard, with opportunity to begin & progress your career in print during & beyond study. It will fast track your styling development & a name for yourself in industry considerably.

 

Students work on professional editorial shoots on campus supported by photographers and make up artists from the industry to build a strong portfolio of work. Students complete the course as a professional editorial stylist with editorial work in print, with an impressive network of professional contacts in hair, make-up, photography & PR, & a sizeable portfolio of editorial work.

Students receive ongoing opportunities to intern with industry stylists on movies, commercial shoots, campaigns, TV Serials, editorial shoots, celebrity styling, digital campaigns and more within the course duration itself. FAD enjoys unparalleled industry support both through independent stylists and fashion & luxury organizations and works on various industry initiatives through the year. Internships & placements are regularly posted on the FAD Students Union exclusive to our students on the course.

 

Previously, FAD students have worked on styling for Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Haya Magazine, London Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week, Arab Fashion Week, Middle East Fashion Week & more.

The Europe tour gives students an exquisite opportunity to visit some of the world’s gilt-edged fashion capitals, namely- Paris, London & Milan for fashion events and guest lectures at leading fashion universities. Students achieve both a professional and an unparalleled academic experience providing a platform to work on a global level on completion of the course.

12th ​Passouts / A Level / IB Diploma or equivalent.​

Students having passed 10th, O Levels or equivalent with a Foundation in Art & Design will be considered based on an interview.
