FAD Students visit the Burberry store in Mumbai for a Buying & Merchandising Masterclass.
Heritage luxury brand Burberry hosted FAD students for a masterclass in Mumbai, with an aim to provide insights and a hands-on learning experience.
Commencing with a guided store tour led by the Visual Merchandising Head, students learned about VM Standard Operating Procedures and strategic product placement which ensures that every Burberry store maintains a consistent aesthetic. He further gave insights on wardrobing and how the store layout is updated to reflect new collections, seasonal trends and special campaigns.
Following this, the Assistant Store Manager gave insights on Burberry’s rich heritage, showcasing how the brand’s aesthetic and creative direction have evolved over the years. The students were introduced to the best sellers that have become synonymous with Burberry's identity, such as the classic trench coat and signature check patterns.
The session concluded with an overview of the store’s operations, buying, merchandising and the selling ceremony essential for a seamless luxury shopping experience.
