FAD Mumbai Campus hosts a session with Vaishnavi Bala, founder - Balav.
Balav is a conscious label renown for its focuses on normalizing experimental fashion while breaking down gender boundaries, with its collections featured on numerous publications & celebrities. FAD Mumbai Campus recently hosted a masterclass with Mumbai-based designer, Vaishnavi Bala, founder of Balav.
The session commenced with the designer shedding light on her education in Milan, further addressing various questions on getting off the ground with Balav, on how the journey of a brand is co-related to industry trends, the initial do’s and dont’s before starting a brand, her ideation behind Balav and how it has evolved over the years.
At the end of the session Vaishnavi conducted a marketing activity, divided the students in groups of 5 wherein the students had to select a brand and curate a marketing campaign for the brand.
Putting out her share of experiences with the students, she gave insights on the biggest challenges faced in the industry, figuring out which marketing strategy worked out for her brand, reason behind collaborating with Crep Dog Crew and more.
