The One Year Programme in Fashion Design focusses on both design and technical areas within fashion. The course is ideal for those looking at a career change, those pursuing alternate educational qualifications or students wising to continue further education in fashion design.

 

The intensive professional course looks at fashion in totality where higher emphasis is laid on developing the creative thought process and understanding the design methodology before experimenting with technical aspects of garment construction. The course allows students to realize their individuality through self-research and projects apart from guided lectures and industry visits. Taught through a project driven approach, the course at all levels helps students to connect their learning to real life industry situations. The course also unifies learning on global fashion taught by tutors with international exposure and opportunities to garner unparalled expsoure through the FAD Europe tour & the semester abroad opportunities.

The FAD Europe tour immerses students in Europe's fashion capitals, offering exposure to iconic landmarks, design studios, and industry events. In the year students undergo foundation in art & design to develop creative thinking and grasp the design development process. Students are also introduced to global fashion studies and fundamental modules in Fashion. By the end of the year students are able to creatively translate their inspirations from 2D to a final 3D product with a sound technical ability. Students study varied modules and learn to adopt a global perspective on fashion. This inaugural segment of the course has been mindfully set up to enable students to bestow their creativity aiming at professing their signature skills.

Students have an opportunity to pursue a semester abroad at some of the leading fashion universities. Students can choose to study in Italy, UK or France for 3 to 6 months and receive a dual certification for the semester spent at the international institution. Students are assisted on the formalities

including the visas by our team. Students can decide on the term transfer midway through the course as well.

12th ​Passouts / A Level / IB Diploma or equivalent. ​Students having passed 10th, O Levels or equivalent with a Foundation in Art & Design will be considered based on a portfolio review.

Advanced Certificate in Fashion Design and Manufacture by SQA (UK Qualification).
